Why Winnipeg?
"The new Canadian Museum for Human Rights is spectacular. We are also quite impressed with the expansion of the RBC Convention Centre, which is an important component for our meeting. It offers a great space with lots of flexibility. This year is our inaugural Health Summit, focused on technology and innovation in health care. Having a space like the RBC Convention Centre enables us to 'walk the talk."

University of Manitoba's own Dr. Magdy Younes designed and built "the Winnipeg Ventilator," which was a model for commercial ventilators found in tens of thousands of machines in ICUs globally during the 1990s and 2000s. The device is now being redesigned as a pandemic ventilator that could be manufactured and scaled up quickly and relatively inexpensively.
