Five new reasons to check out Thermëa

By: Meetings Winnipeg // September 18, 2019

Whether you're a companion seeking relaxation or a delegate looking to fill some downtime while in Winnipeg, then you'll definitely want to include Thermëa by Nordik Spa-Nature on your itinerary. This popular spa is located in the city only 20 minutes from downtown and is devoted to each guest's overall well being. Get ready to enjoy a complete relaxation experience set in in nature with Nordic baths inspired by Scandinavian tradition. For those not yet familiar with this spa concept popular for centuries across Europe, proven health benefits stem from the alternation between hot and cold baths, followed by relaxation. In keeping with customer demand, the spa recently rolled out some new updates to elevate the visitor experience.

1.      Lounge on The Beach

There’s a brand new sandy outdoor area to relax in called “The Beach” that invites guests to lounge on comfy beds and relax under large shady trees.

You can also bask in the sun on loungers, or chat around a crackling fire with a glass of wine or craft beer served up from the new Bier Garden kiosk, where new boozy popsicles like blueberry gin bramble, red wine raspberry and orange triple sec creamsicle are available to order.

2.      That’s right—I said chat
The spa has lifted its whisper policy in almost all outdoor spaces (indoor spaces remain silent), allowing guests to talk and connect. There are even chill beats playing in The Beach area, providing additional ambiance.

3.      Rise and shine with an elevated breakfast
Start the day off right with breakfast now available in the Restö daily until 10:30 a.m. For a lighter fare, choose between a mango yogurt lassi made with Manitoba John Russel honey or a PB chocolate oat energy bar. If you’re looking for something to crush your appetite, try out the BOB (or Breakfast On a Bun) made with eggs, ham, maple smoked cheddar, house-made garlic aioli on a toasted brioche bun.

4.      Save your spot
Now you can book your guaranteed arrival time on Thermëa’s website, so you can plan that perfectly timed trip knowing a locker has been reserved and a spot is waiting in your name at the spa. In fact, you can book your fully customized day online to include massages or other body treatments on offer.

5.      New menu offerings
The on-site eatery Restö is top-notch and you’ll definitely want to make time for it while there. Summer saw the release of a new menu and we’ve got our eye on the Farmers’ Feast vegan sauté, Manitoba rainbow trout, Greenland Garden tomato smørrebrød and spiced pineapple ginger beer.
