You only have one chance to make a first impression and the James Armstrong Richardson International Airport makes sure your first experience in Winnipeg exceeds all expectations. Opened in 2011, the terminal offers guests the services and luxuries they expect from a world-class airport, with the care and attention that friendly Winnipeggers are known for.
“For meetings and convention guests travelling to Winnipeg, our number one goal is to offer them a seamless experience from the time they get off the plane to the time they get to their hotel,” explains Scott Marohn, Director of Air Service and Product Development for the Winnipeg Airports Authority. “Our city offers first class spaces for events, and we support that experience in a variety of ways.”
How does an airport improve the meetings and conventions it services? Firstly, the terminal is spacious enough to allow guests an unhurried experience, but designed with an efficiency that brings flyers from gate to curb very quickly.
Unlike many other major cities in Canada, the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport is close to everywhere your delegates need to be. You are only 15 minutes to downtown, which includes many conference spaces and attractions like the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and The Forks. The airport area itself also boasts thousands of hotel rooms and conference spaces with three properties right on site offering services for today’s business traveler.
“Our location facilitates better use of the time you have while you’re in Winnipeg,” Marohn continues. “Your sessions can end a bit later in the day as your attendees aren’t facing a 60 minute ride to the airport to catch their flight out. If you’ve put the time into gathering together for an important meeting, take the time you need to conclude your business.”
The terminal also offers services to benefit meeting and convention planners: two kiosk desks are at your disposal for greeting guests as they arrive, plus the visual display systems can be utilized to welcome attendees and offer important information on their stay.
“With healthy food options, the newly-opened Plaza Premium Lounge and our volunteer team, the Goldwing Ambassadors, we know we can roll out the red carpet for your guests when you come to Winnipeg,” concludes Marohn. “Let us create the VIP experience for you. We look forward to welcoming you to our city!”
